How do I send wedding announcements online?

Choose a design from Greenvelope's wedding announcement collection or upload your own artwork, add your photos and the wording, then import your guest list from a spreadsheet or your address book. Add music if you want it, and send by email or text message (in supported countries). An announcement is not asking anyone to reply, so what comes back is open rates rather than RSVPs, and you can update the card after you send if something needs correcting.

Who should receive a wedding announcement?

Anyone you want to tell rather than anyone you asked to attend: relatives and friends who were not at the ceremony, colleagues, neighbors, and the wider circle who will hear about it eventually anyway. Sending one to a guest who was already there is fine too, as a keepsake with the photos on it. Keep the wording to the facts, your names, the date and the city, with no RSVP line, so that nobody reads it as an invitation or as a request for a gift.

When should wedding announcements be sent?

After the ceremony, never before it. An announcement that lands ahead of the day reads as an invitation, and people will assume they are expected. The convention is to send within the first two weeks after the wedding, and up to about three months is still fine if you are waiting on photographs. Later than that and the news has usually traveled on its own, so the card arrives as a formality rather than as the moment somebody finds out.

We eloped. Can a wedding announcement tell everyone?

That is one of the things announcements are for. An elopement or a courthouse ceremony leaves a lot of people to tell at once, and a card that arrives with the photos does it in one go rather than through a run of individual messages. Say plainly that you are married, add the date and the place, and if a party is coming later you can note that a celebration will follow without turning the card into an invitation.

How much do digital wedding announcements cost?

Greenvelope announcements are a flat one-time price starting at $19, set by guest count, with no subscription required and no per-guest charges, so the cost per person falls as the list grows. If you are also sending thank you notes after the wedding, an annual membership covers unlimited mailings as long as each one is for a different purpose. There is no credit card required to start.

How does Greenvelope calculate people?

Each person (with or without email) added to the mailing list counts as (1) person. For example, "The Smith Family" of John, Jill, Tim, and Lauren would count as (4) people.

What if I am unsure how many people I need?

In this case, we recommend purchasing a smaller package initially. You can then easily purchase additional people from within your mailing on an as needed basis.

Can I send in multiple batches?

Greenvelope allows you to resend invitations or send invitations to new contacts at any time.

What if I need multiple versions of my card?

The best way to set this up would be to have two different mailings. You will need to purchase a separate "single mailing" package for each version.

Do you offer RSVP tracking?

Yes! Greenvelope's robust RSVP tracking makes planning effortless. You can collect RSVPs, track plus ones, gather meal selections, send RSVP reminders, set up seating charts, and more.

Can I also send my invitations via text message?

In addition to email, you can send your Greenvelope invitations and cards via SMS text message, WhatsApp, Facebook messenger, or a sharable link.

Do you offer digital thank you notes or save the dates?

Yes, in addition to our digital invitations and RSVP tracking, Greenvelope offers both save the dates and thank you notes. Each mailing type provides easy-to-use features, such as address collection on save the dates and individual customization for thank you notes.

What if I need to update my invitation after I've sent it?

You can do that! One of the many benefits of digital invitations is that you can add additional information, update your card, or quickly follow-up with guests with ease.

Can I send a sample to myself?

Yes! When you arrive at the 'Send' step after designing your mailing, your account information will automatically be added so you can easily send yourself a test and make sure everything looks exactly how you want it.
